Chapter 54 Fainting
Seeing Bentley’s insight, I no longer hesitated and nodded. “Exactly.”
Bentley raised his hand and beckoned Barry to fetch something. It was a yellowing medical record.
I took a look and suddenly felt extra anxious.

towards Evelyn.
It was quite normal for Christopher to have psychological issues.

Bentley sighed, his world-weary eyes looking particularly sharp. “However, one day in the future, he will always know
the truth. I can’t hide it from him forever.”
I left the Valence Manor with complex feelings. On the way back, I heard the cawing of a crow.
I didn’t believe in these ominous signs normally, but, today, I had some discomfort in my chest.
As my car was about to enter the parking lot of the residential area, Christopher’s phone rang.
I immediately sensed trouble and answered the phone.
“Grandpa fainted! An ambulance is on its way now.”
“I, I’m going back right now.”
I was both shocked and scared, my voice trembling as I spoke. On the other end of the phone, Christopher steadied my nerves with his calm and powerful voice. “Hope, don’t panic; you don’t need to come back. Just go straight to Messlushi Hospital.”
My mind went blank.
After hanging up the phone, I drove the car to the security guard’s side and asked him to help me park it. Then, I
walked to the roadside and hailed a taxi.

After the last accident, in this situation, I didn’t dare to drive anymore.
I arrived at the hospital, and just as I got out of the car, an ambulance drove past me.

Concerned about the fetus in my abdomen, I dared not run, only able to briskly follow the ambulance.
The ambulance parked at the entrance of the emergency room, and the doctors and nurses who had been waiting rushed forward. The person who was pushed down from the ambulance was indeed Bentley.
Watching the eighty-year-old Bentley being moved to the hospital bed without any movement, my tears welled up

Christopher got out of the car and saw me, his solemn expression slightly easing. “Don’t worry; Bentley has been doing fine physically recently.”
Soon, Bentley was in the emergency room; paramedics were in and out.
Until the end, the door of the emergency room closed completely.
Every minute and every second, life became thoroughly agonizing.
Leaning against the wall to prevent myself from slipping to the ground, I looked at Christopher and spoke weakly, “When I left, wasn’t Bentley doing fine? How did he suddenly faint?”
Christopher’s face turned serious. “After you left, Bentley called her in.”
“Who?”
Possibly too flustered, I didn’t react in time and instinctively asked.
Barry steadied his mind and replied, “Evelyn.”
“Evelyn?”
I frowned. “Did Evelyn argue with Bentley? What exactly happened?”
“They didn’t argue.”
Barry shook his head. “I was standing outside at that time and didn’t hear any noise. The last thing I heard was when Mr. Bentley fainted.”
“How could this happen?”
I looked up at the light above the emergency room, feeling nothing but panic and helplessness, tears streaming down my face.
Bentley was the only person in the world who made me feel the warmth of family.

I just hoped that Bentley could come out of the emergency room safely.
Christopher reached out and tried to wipe my tears. “Don’t cry. I promise you; Bentley will be all right.”
“And Evelyn?
I dodged his movements and choked out a question.
Bentley fainted when he was with Evelyn; why wasn’t Evelyn here now?
I just finished asking when the sound of high heels came from the hallway, sounding a bit flustered. Evelyn hurried over, looking anxious. “Chris, is Bentley okay? I’m sorry, I couldn’t get a cab near the Valence Manor, so I was delayed.”
I interrupted her directly. “Why did Bentley suddenly faint?”
With a nervous look on her face, Evelyn added, “I don’t know, he just got lost in his breath, and then he passed out.”
“Did he just faint suddenly? You didn’t say or do anything?” I didn’t believe Evelyn’s explanation.
Over the previous two years, Bentley had been taking good care of his health and had been having regular check-ups.
Even when he angrily reprimanded Christopher, Bentley was doing well. How could he suddenly faint?
“What do you mean by that? Hope, do you suspect that I intentionally upset Bentley?”
Evelyn looked very flustered, suddenly clutching her abdomen and looking at Christopher in pain. “Chris, my belly hurts so much.”
Christopher looked serious. “Belly ache?”
“Yeah.”
After Evelyn gave a positive response, Christopher immediately picked her up and quickly walked away. “Doctor, she is pregnant and experiencing abdominal pain now.”
I couldn’t resist a sneering look, so I leaned my head back against the wall, trying to calm my breathing.
I know Chris felt sorry for Evelyn, but every time I witnessed his reaction with my own eyes, I couldn’t help but find it
ironic.
Barry saw my pale complexion and then advised. “Mrs. Valence, please sit and wait. Mr. Bentley might come out in a while. Besides, no matter what happens, Mr. Bentley wants you all to be well.”
“Okay.”
My tears wouldn’t stop flowing. I could only nod, leaning against the nearby seat, and sat down wearily.
However, I was growing increasingly flustered, and my gaze was almost unwilling to leave the emergency room door.
I had never been so anxious before.

“Be careful.”
Christopher, who did not know when to come back, grabbed my arm and gently warned me.
I coldly pulled away his arm and saw Adam walking towards us. He took off his mask, his face grave. “Mr. Valence, Mrs. Valence, Mr. Bentley’s old condition has relapsed, and now, the situation is quite dire. mentally.”
