Unveiling Samantha by Veronica Wright Chapter 30

Chapter 30

Jasmine was about to cry, thinking the Vanderbilt family had regarded her as their future daughter-in-law. She had counted on Conrad at first, but Conrad hadn’t said a word the whole time as if he had admitted it silently. Although Conrad is handsome with a good figure, I don’t really know him!” she thought.

Samantha sighed and took a necklace from her pocket.

Jasmine’s eyes were dazzled. She took a closer look and exclaimed in surprise, “Nuvola’s limited edition pink diamond necklace! Sammie!” She hugged Samantha tightly with excitement.

Jasmine was surprisingly strong. Being held so tightly, Samantha could barely breathe and felt helpless.

It was no wonder Jasmine was so happy. Nuvola only released three pieces of jewelry each time at an astronomical price.

Rich socialites went crazy for the jewelry, and the products were sold out as soon as they went on sale. Some people didn’t even get to see what the jewelry looked like..

This jewelry brand, Nuvola, was founded by Samantha.

Jasmine took the jewelry and praised generously, “Sammie, your jewelry is fantastic! It’s beautiful but not flashy, gorgeous but not vulgar. It’s top-tier! No wonder those socialites are willing to throw money at it. Sammie, you’re so nice to me. I have nothing to repay you except offering myself—”

“Shut up. Get down to business,” Samantha interrupted, stopping Jasmine’s approaching face with her hand in disgust. Why is she still like before? Is her name in the group chat still… I have to check her sexual orientation someday, she mused.

Seeing Samantha suddenly become serious, Jasmine also restrained herself. She carefully put the necklace into her bag and sat down beside Samantha.

Samantha looked solemn as she asked, “Do you remember Black ox?”

Jasmine thought for a while before nodding. She answered, “Yes. You saved him from the orphanage. After he recovered from his injury, you arranged for him to guard Hork. He… rebelled?”

Jasmine immediately guessed it. After all, Blackfox was ambitious. Since Samantha asked like this, this was the only possibility.

Samantha nodded and murmured, “The staff in Hork have arrested Blackfox. But I don’t know what that person is thinking.”

Hearing this, Jasmine thought of something.

Hork was only a sea away from Astoria, covering an area equivalent to half of Astoria. Hork had suffered heavy casualties in the war several years ago, but since then, it had been taken over by two mysterious people. One was Samantha, and the other, like Samantha, had never been seen in Hork.

However, there happened to be many diamond mines in Samantha’s area. That person’s secretary had come to negotiate with generous gifts, but Samantha had refused without hesitation.

“Since the traitor appeared on our side, that person likely wouldn’t interfere. At most, he would strengthen their defense. Besides, we haven’t had much contact with him in the past two years,” Samantha said, taking a chocolate from the drawer and biting it calmly.

Jasmine’s mouth twitched. Everyone in Hork knows you two are like oil and water, she thought. When something went

wrong, the two sides would fight each other. But the bosses wouldn’t show themselves, no matter what.

The other party had been making trouble secretly since Samantha rejected them. Jasmine thought I wonder how they will

laugh at us now that our side has a traitor.

Samantha said, “Let’s go to Hork tomorrow and see what’s going on. We will deal with them if they dare make trouble. Her voice was hoarse, and her words were emotionless. Jasmine felt cold all over and silently prayed for that person. Then, she nodded.

It was late, and Jasmine didn’t want to go out. After she pleaded several times, Samantha had no choice but to make a bed for Jasmine to sleep on.

In the dark bedroom at the Wright residence, Christopher sneered as he heard the words of the man on the computer screen. “Really? That’s perfect! I’ll go there tomorrow. Prepare a generous gift. Let’s express our condolences,” he said.

The man on the screen said something, nodded slightly, and ended the call.

Christopher’s white shirt was half-open, revealing his abdominal muscles. He leaned back in the chair with his arms crossed. After a while, he picked up the glass and drank the red wine in one gulp. The wine stains at the corner of his mouth slid down his chin and dripped onto his collarbone,

“There’s a traitor… They can’t read people…” Christopher murmured. ‘Even a traitor has appeared. This person in charge can’t be too strong, he thought.

Christopher rubbed the wine glass and thought of the scene of Samantha drinking. There was a trace of affection in his eyes.

I’ll get along with the other party in harmony if they give up a few mines this time. Otherwise, there’s no need for Hork to have two bosses, Christopher mused, staring at the wine glass. Snapping back from his thoughts, he got up and went to the bathroom to wash up.

Soon, it was dawn. The time was tight. Samantha called someone before taking Jasmine, who was still half-asleep, and said goodbye to the Vanderbilt family. Then, they went to an empty place by car.

Before long, a helicopter hovered in the air. Samantha and Jasmine put on noise-proof headphones. After the helicopter lowered the ladder, they boarded the helicopter swiftly, fastened their seat belts, and flew to the south.

At the same time, Christopher boarded a helicopter and headed for Hork.

In a dungeon somewhere in Hork, the foreign woman, who had been on the phone with Samantha, put her hands behind her back and spread her feet slightly apart, looking solemnly at the injured man before her. She asked, “Why did you betray us? We’ve treated you well.””

Listening to the woman’s words, Blackfox, tied to the pillar, suddenly burst into hysterical laughter. He mocked, “Why? Treat me well? Do you think I care about that little money? I worked diligently for months and only got a few hundred thousand dollars. Did you take me as cheap labor? I don’t give a fuck! Don’t you want to have unlimited money?”

“That’s not a reason for your rebellion! The CEO trained us to become talents and gave us jobs, which was a great kindness. But you led others to rebel. In that case, you can talk to the CEO later, the woman said.

Ordinary people couldn’t bear the consequences of being caught for rebellion. The woman told the man beside her, “Before the CEO arrives, wake him up whenever he loses consciousness. Then, she walked away.

Blackfox spat blood at the man and cast a provocative look. The man was also bad-tempered. He grabbed a wooden board and struck Blackfox with it. Then, he spat at Blackfox and walked to the side with the gun.

Blackfox was dizzy after being smashed. When his vision gradually blurred, and he was about to faint, he was splashed with icy water. He trembled from the icy water. His sharp eyes swept over the man who splashed the water, his pale face full of murderous intent.
