Unveiling Samantha by Veronica Wright Chapter 24

Chapter 24

With 20 minutes to go, Samantha lifted her head and began wring Noticing this, the person behind her shook his head.

She seemed to be the same as what he thought. He wanted to get help from her, but now, he would rather not.

Samantha stopped writing when the class ended without showing signs of panic.

She picked up her phone and discovered a message from Alberta

ProudBoomer [Sammie, the research institute’s people are here Do you want to come over?]

Samantha typed a message lazily. Then, she got up and left.

Secing this, Zachary wanted to follow her but was stopped when the person sitting behind him said, “You’d better stay. We still have to meet the teacher for recitation later. Time is running out, so you’d better hurry up and start memorizing”

The classmate didn’t want Zachary and Samantha to form a bond because even though Zachary’s results weren’t the best, he was still in the top 20 of the class. So, he didn’t want Zachary to be influenced by Samantha.

Hearing this. Zachary had no choice but to sit down. He assumed Albert must have looked for Samantha. Besides, he had no right to interfere in her matters.

He then leaned on the table, flipping through his book absentmindedly. Seeing this, the classmate also relaxed.

Samantha went to Albert’s office calmly. There were several men in suits and ties inside.

She showed little expression, weaving through the crowd before settling into an office chair, crossing her legs, and producing a piece of chocolate to munch on.

Albert’s eyelid twitched when he noticed her relaxed demeanor.

He mused. Why is she so carefree? Meanwhile, I’m still standing

While that thought crossed Albert’s mind, Samantha asked in a puzzled tone, “Grandpa Albert, what are you standing for? Sit down”

He was rendered speechless.

The others exchanged smiles upon hearing this. Earlier, they had also urged Albert to take a seat, but he had vehemen

refused.

Helpless, they could only give up and stand together with Albert

After all, Samantha respected him greatly.

“Mr. Youngston, just sit. We don’t mind standing up. We want to inform you that we will hold the competition this Friday, so please be ready. We also want to see how Ms. Vanderbilt is doing in your school. Since we’ve found the answer, we will stop being a bother. Goodbye!” one said.

They nodded at Samantha and Albert before walking out of the office.

Albert’s mouth twitched, but his face displayed a blank expression. He turned to look at Samantha, who was sitting lazily. and said, “Weren’t they here a few days ago? Or is this a special trip to see how you are doing?”

Samantha nodded, volting-casually, “Maybe they are also here to see you?”

Hearing this, Albert snorted. He replied, “Why would they visit an old man like me?”

Samantha ate the last piece of chocolate and stood up. She replied seriously, “Grandpa Albert, don’t you feel that you have become younger these days? They probably want to know how you do that but are too embarrassed to ask.”

Albert feigned anger and turned away from Samantha with a stern face. “Well, keep up the lies. You’ll regret it when I get upset!” he said.

Samantha burst into laughter. She spoke as she walked. “I was wrong, okay? I’ll bring you something nice next time, and I promise to turn back the clock for you.”

Albert shook his head with a smile and went back to work.

Samantha went downstairs slowly and returned to the school building. She glanced at Class One, noticing Adrienne in her seat, covering her face and crying bitterly while Adrienne’s best friend and classmates tried to comfort her.

She wanted to ignore Adrienne, but the window of Class One was open, so she overheard something interesting.

Adrienne tearfully poured out her heart to others, saying, “She’s just my mom’s adopted daughter, but she’s been taking everything from me since arriving. My parents and brother all side with her, ignoring me. I didn’t come to school yesterday because she splashed milk on me and accused me of doing it to her first. My mom made me kneel all day… Look, my knees are bruised…

“Oh my. Is she for real? She thinks too highly of herself,” someone said. They began belittling Samantha after Adrienne finished speaking.

“She’s a pretentious woman who only knows how to act pitiful!” another person said.

“She’s lucky the Vanderbilt family is supporting her financially. How dare she play tricks?” someone added.

“I will rip her face apart if she’s here now!” another person exclaimed.

“Hey, what are you guys talking about?” Samantha asked.

Suddenly, everyone fell silent, and they all looked at her as she stood outside the classroom door.

She leaned lazily against the door as the sunlight shone on her flawless face.

The woman lifted her gaze lazily. Her crimson lips curved into a smile. She resembled the protagonist of a youth idol drama with her arms across her chest. Under the sunlight, her slightly tousled hair took on a silver-white hue. Samantha looked like an angel who fell to earth, curiously observing what humans were discussing.

Thus, Class One’s students stared at Samantha for a long time.

They mused, ‘She’s gorgeous!”

Adrienne clenched her test paper, her gaze like daggers shooting toward Samantha. She cursed silently, ‘Why is this happening?

“Adrie… You… What’s wrong?” the person beside Adrienne exclaimed in shock after returning to her senses and catching the murderous intent in Adrienne’s eyes.

“Huh? Nothing. That’s Samantha!” Adrienne replied. She withdrew her gaze in panic. Hearing this, her deskmate felt that Adrienne hadn’t done wrong in looking at Samantha that way earlier.

“Stop staring at her! She’s the adopted daughter who bullied Adriel’ Adrienne’s deskmate grumbled. Instantly, everyone snapped out of it as curiosity and contempt filled their faces.

They thought, I wonder if she’s had plastic surgery because her beauty is unparalleled. Is she up to some shady business behind others’ backs?

Under the complex gaze of the crowd, Samantha confidently walked to the platform. A perplexing smile played on her lips as she looked at Adrienne’s pitiful expression.

The woman turned on the projector and scrolled through her phone. Then, she told the person by the window, “Please close the curtains. Thank you.”

The crowd watched her, wondering if the truth wasn’t what Adrienne recounted. Curiosity got the better of them, so they quickly closed the curtains.

Samantha turned the volume to the maximum, put her phone on the projector, and asked if everyone could see clearly.

The people in Class One began to feel guilty when they noticed her politeness.

They wondered why they thought badly of her just because Adrienne criticized her without any proof:

These people watched Samantha’s video with mixed feelings of guilt. The longer they watched it, the more upset they

became.

It turned out that it was not what Adrienne said at all. It was Adrienne who twisted the truth as she splashed milk at Samantha first.

They were all fooled by Adrienne.
