“Mom, are you sure that he will listen to you?” Harriet asked her mother–in–law.
Although they had other relatives, she wasn’t so worried that one of the young men in those families would take the heir position as the Scott family had to follow the rules but worried that Damien would tum a deaf ear to what the old woman had said because of the rule.
It stated. ‘No matter how talented a child is, he or she has to be from the first branch to succeed in taking the heir position.
Because of this rule, even if they had a lot of talented youths in the midst, they knew that the rule set by their ancestor must be followed. Most of the time they felt bad and thought that it limited that but after some time, they realized that what the ancestors were afraid of was that the youngsters might try killing each other because of their position. Now with it, the family lives in

Eunice who was still seated frowned when she heard that then remembered the rule her brother had once told her when she asked whether he and their cousins were going to fight for the president seat in

“Does that mean you are thinking of taking away his position and giving it to one of our cousins?” Eunice asked in worry. Although there was such a rule, she thought that the person who would be given that position might refuse to hand it back to her brother when Damien returned to his senses and saw
that Marie was just hurting them.
“What else can I do my dear grandchild? Can’t you see that your brother is blinded by his love for that woman? Do you think that he will cancel the wedding despite what Marie did? No! That woman is so
good at acting and spouting lies which seemed to be the truth. I am sure that after she was asked why she did that, she might have come up with another plan and lied to Damien acting pitiful. With that, Damien will apologize and feel guilty for asking her the questions I have seen such women throughout my life thus I understand them better than any of you,” Old Mrs Scott said with a smile.

“He or she can’t do that with the elders of the family present. If he does so, he will be forced to give back the ban from the family. No one wishes such a thing to happen to them,” Old Mrs Scott told her. Eunice sighed in relief.
To her, the company belongs to their family and there is no way just anyone can take it away since neither of them is still dead yet.
“Or if you are so afraid, you can take that position,” the old woman said as she looked at Eunice with a serious expression on her face.
“What? There is no way I am going to do that! That will cause me and my brother to fight with each other and I don’t want that! I don’t want him to think that I am after the company. Furthermore, 1 have no experience and Amanda hates me so much thus there is no way she will let me have an easy time,” Eunice said as she shook her head in disagreement.
Taking that position has never been in her mind as, to her, her brother was so wise and has the endeavor of a successful woman and also, if she was given any position, she might mess that up. That was the reason she had never asked for any position in the company.
“What’s there to be afraid of? Anyway, I am happy to see that you love your brother so much that you don’t want to ruin your relationship with him. That’s how a good and harmonious family is formed. Although both of you have been taken advantage of by that woman, I believe you will all eventually be fine. Also, dear child, never doubt yourself as you haven’t tried to know whether you will bankrupt everything,” Old Mrs Scott said with a smile.
At first, she had been afraid that the latter would insist on taking over the position if she did, there would be no use in returning it to Damien as they were from the same first branch.
“Grandma, do you think that I am worried about that and that you can control me? I have the right to be with the person I love! Also, she was doing for my own good,” Damien’s voice was heard, making everyone turn in that direction only to find the butler holding a phone.
“I am sorry, madam, but he insists on talking to you,” the butler said when he saw how they were
looking at him.
“Pfft. I am not worthy of him anymore that he can’t come here to talk to me directly! His little
woman is more important than I am,” Old Mrs Scott said in a sad tone.
