My Substitute Wife Wants A Divorce by Lucy Arabella Chapter 32

Chapter 32

Maria was stopped and looked over.

The saleswoman said aggressively, “You just entered the blind spot of the surveillance. We need to check your bag.”

Another saleswoman left the cashier’s desk and walked over, saying, “Yeah. You walked around the store when we were chatting. Open your bag and show it to us.”

Maria was mad and asked, “What on earth do you have the right to check my bag?”

A saleswoman firmly insisted, “Sorry, but we have to do our jobs.” She spoke as though they would not allow Maria to leave until she showed them the contents of her bag.

Grace looked on as if she was watching a play. She did not like Maria since high school because Maria was pretty and good at studies. What Grace envied the most was that many boys had a crush on Maria.

If Grace hadn’t influenced most of her classmates with bribes, Maria would have earned the title of the prettiest girl in the

class.

Grace hated Maria because she thought Maria was a faker.

Witnessing Maria being humiliated by the two saleswomen, Grace sneered and suggested, “Maria, just let them take a look at your bag. What are you worried about if you didn’t take anything? Wait a second. Did you…”

Grace did not finish her words, thinking, ‘I guess everyone has known what I was going to say!‘

“Yeah. What about it if we take a look at your bag? Are you scared? Or are you guilty? We’ll call the police if you refuse to follow our words. It’s better to let the police do their job. If they find anything…”

“I asked you to get some clothes. What are you doing here?” A cold and deep voice arose, interrupting the saleswoman’s speech.

The women heard the voice, and they all looked over. Frank was glaring at Maria.

Suddenly, Maria remembered that Frank had asked her to buy some clothes. She cried inside, ‘I completely forgot about it

once I walked into this store.‘

The saleswomen did not know who Frank was, but they noticed his attire and assumed he was wealthy. One of them whispered, “This guy must be rich.”

Frank fixed his icy gaze on Maria and said in a deep voice, “Come over.”

Maria was like a child who had made a mistake. She lowered her head and walked to Frank.

A saleswoman realized Frank tried to take Maria with him and immediately stood in their way, shouting, “Wait!”

Frank cast a glance sideways. The saleswoman blushed and continued, “Sir, we are concerned that your friend has taken something from the store.”

Maria frowned and retorted, “I didn’t.”

Frank glanced at Maria’s flawless face and glared at the saleswoman, asking, “Really? What did she take?”

Unable to answer, she thought, ‘We suspect she may have stolen something, but we lack evidence. We merely want to be cautious because she has a record.‘

Therefore, she said, “Well. Open her bag, and we’ll see.”

Maria was irritated and shouted, “I didn’t take anything! Why do you have the right to check my bag?” She cried inside, ‘I

can’t take it anymore! These two women keep slandering me!‘

Frank reached out his hand to hold Maria.

He then retrieved his phone from his pocket and dialed a number. When the call was answered, he issued a cold command, saying, “I’m at the doll store on Berry Street. Handle your people.”

The saleswomen’s phones rang immediately after Frank hung up the phone. Their faces turned pale as they answered their phones.

Frank stared at those pale faces coldly and spoke, “Are you still insisting on checking my friend’s bag?”
