Bonnie thought, ‘That has nothing to do with me, let alone Bonita!’
Still, she responded, “Go on. Tell me why.”
Ivor grinned, his blue eyes sparkling affectionately as he stood beside her. He lowered his gaze to meet her eyes and raised his brow slightly, saying, “That’s because I promised the love of my life that I’d never get involved with any woman who shows interest in me. I told her I’d save myself for her.”
Bonnie peered into his eyes and noticed his intense admiration for her. Time seemed to freeze as they stared into each other’s eyes. It felt like they were the only ones on Earth. Although Bonnie looked calm, her heart raced.
Then, a tall and handsome man approached her. “Hello there, Ms. Bonita.”
The man had blonde hair and blue eyes. He handed her a bouquet of roses and looked at her adoringly. However, it caused Ivor’s expression to turn sour.
Before Bonnie could respond to the blonde man, Ivor stood between them and said in fluent Motrusian, “She’s allergic to roses.”
“Oh, forgive my ignorance. I’ll buy her some other flowers, then.”
“That’s okay. She doesn’t need any.”
The blonde man was no fool. He knew Ivor was trying to fight with him over Bonita. The former asked, “What makes you say that?”
Ivor stared at him blankly. He was taller than the blonde man by several inches, and his eyes were cold. Ivor also exuded an imposing demeanor, enough to drive fear into the blonde man’s heart. Soon after, the blonde man submitted to Ivor. The former did not even realize that he had begun sweating until he stepped back.
Ivor glanced at him coldly as he left. When the former turned around, Bonnie had already walked away.
“Wait, where are you going?” Ivor strode across the hall, looking elegant as he soon caught up to her.
Bonnie felt hopeless as he continued to bug her. She said, “Stop following me around. I have to use the restroom.”
“What a coincidence. That’s where I’m headed, too.”
It just so happened that Sienna, standing not too far from them, saw what happened. She muttered, “Hmm, Ivor is showing interest in Ms. Bonita. Is he trying to hit on her?”
Sienna was shocked by this epiphany. Then she sneered and uttered, “Well, Bonnie can’t compare to Ms. Bonita. It’s only normal for Ivor to give up on Bonnie and go to Ms. Bonita. I’d do the same if I were a man.”
‘As for Bonnie, I guess I’ll see her misery sooner rather than later. After all, she’ll lose the bet and her boyfriend.’
“She deserves it for going against me.”
When Bonnie exited the restroom, she saw Ivor waiting for her at the door.
‘What is he doing here?! Why is he so clingy?’
Suddenly, Ivor stepped forward and said, “There’s something on your mask, Ms. Bonita.”
The next thing she knew, he reached for her face.
