“Ahh!” With a loud cry, Jim threw the final person out of the way. Then he stepped on the man’s chest.
“Speak! Who sent you to assassinate her?”
The thug spat blood and quickly begged for mercy, “It’s a misunderstanding! We just thought she looked good. No one sent us!”
“Not talking, huh? Then I’ll keep hitting until you speak!” Jim raised his fist again.
Bonnie spoke up to stop him, “Stop hitting for now.”
With just one sentence, Jim’s descending fist halted.
Bonnie walked over to Jim’s side. “When I fought them, I realized they had no martial arts training, just random attacks. Assassins wouldn’t be like them.”
Jim also noticed this. “But it’s also possible that those assassins hired them to test you.”
Bonnie rubbed her chin. “You make a valid point.”
Elsa tugged at her brother’s sleeve as she watched. She asked, “Brother, what are they talking about? What assassins? And why does Jim listen to Bonnie like she’s his boss?” ‘Boss!’ This word stirred up a storm in Kramer’s heart. His eyes burned as he stared at Bonnie. ‘And her name starts with Bon!’
Not long after, the local police arrived.
“Who reported the case?” Captain Larson walked over and asked.
“It was me.” Elsa pointed to the thugs lying on the ground and said, “It’s them. They attacked us.”

Captain Larson was shocked. He hadn’t expected this incident to be related to their local celebrity, Jim Ray. He had to take this matter seriously. “What exactly happened?”
Jim glanced at Bonnie, then explained, “I suspect they’re from an international assassin organization.”
What? Captain Larson blinked and said, “These are just a few thugs. How are they related to an international assassin organization?”

Captain Larson’s gaze fell on Bonnie.
He wasn’t sure if it was his imagination, but it seemed like Jim’s gaze lingered on this girl for a few seconds longer while speaking to him. ‘This girl seems extraordinary. Could she be a big shot from a wealthy family?
