I Love You, Miss Genius Chapter 543

After opening it, successive gasps could be heard. This was because lying in the box was a whiskey of extraordinary quality. “This whiskey looks rare,” a liquor-savvy uncle remarked after a while.

Bonnie nodded. “I heard from Jim that Grandpa Melvin likes to drink, so I had someone acquire this for him.”

“Shouldn’t the value of this whiskey be the same as that pearl necklace?” Kramer couldn’t help asking.

“What do you know?” The uncle retorted. “With this size and such perfect preservation, it can’t be measured in terms of money.”

“W-What does that mean?” Kramer was a bit confused.

“It means this kind of whiskey is priceless. It’s not something ordinary people can buy.”

The entire banquet hall fell silent. Only the sound of breathing could be heard.

Melvin handed the gift back to Bonnie. “Ms. Bonnie, this gift is too precious. I-I can’t accept it. And that pearl necklace, we can’t accept it either.”

Bonnie turned to Jim, who understood and looked at his grandparents.

“You should accept them. This is her heartfelt gesture. She came all this way. Won’t it be disappointing if she had to take it back?”

Although Jim was younger, his words carried weight in the family.

“Alright, since you said so, we’ll accept them.”

After Melvin accepted the gifts, he quietly asked Jim, “Who exactly is your friend? Why is she so extravagant?”

“I can’t say now. It’s inconvenient. I’ll tell you after the banquet ends.”

“Okay.”

Halfway through the banquet, Elsa went up to Bonnie, and Kramer approached Jim.

Elsa no longer considered Bonnie a gold-digger. However, her gaze toward Bonnie was more hostile, seeing her as a rival.

“Hey, are you from a wealthy family in Pyralis?”

Bonnie shook her head and said, “No.”

“Don’t lie to me.”

Elsa was convinced Bonnie must be. Otherwise, why would she be so extravagant?

“I acknowledge that you have better looks, background, and disposition than I do. But so what? I have a good academic record and even placed second in our county’s literary competition.

“My Jim is not superficial about looks. Also, my Jim and I grew up together, so he will choose me in the end, not you.”

After a sip of juice, Bonnie smiled at Elsa and said, “Good luck, strive to become Jim’s wife soon, and give him children.”

Elsa was speechless. She had prepared many strategies before coming over, but none could deal with Bonnie’s unconventional tactics.

Kramer’s gaze shifted from Bonnie to Jim.

“Are you and Bonnie not in a romantic relationship?”

“Of course not.”

Kramer observed earnestly before coming to a firm conclusion.

“Seeing you like this, you’re not lying.” Then, he felt delighted. “Do you think I have a chance to pursue her?”

Jim had guessed his friend’s interest in Bonnie when Elsa mentioned the events on the road.
