‘I’m very confident that my painting is authentic. After all, I spent a hundred and eighty million dollars to acquire it. There’s no way I’d make a mistake.’ “Fine. I’ll bring the original painting here.”
What she said sent the crowds into another shock.
Kay gulped and asked, “Did you bring Master Kieran’s painting with you, Master?”
“Nuh-uh, but I know someone who has it.”
“Who might that be?”
“The wealthiest and most powerful family in Pyralis. The Knight family.”
Kobe couldn’t help but burst out laughing at what she said.
“Of course, the Knights have it. However, do you honestly think they’ll take it here just because you say so? Who do you think you are?”
The next moment, someone at the entrance yelled, “The Knights are here!”
‘The Knights?! Really?’
Everyone turned their gaze toward the door unanimously. Floyd showed up with a dozen of the Knight family’s top bodyguards.
“I recognize the emblems on their uniforms. It’s true. They’re the Knight family’s fearsome bodyguards.”
“I can prove it, too. The man at the front of the group is the assistant of the head of the Knight family. He frequently represented them in various events and outings.”
Titus’s eyes were widened in shock. He fixed his gaze on Floyd and said, “I know he isn’t the head of the Knight family, but he looked so cool nonetheless! It will make me look good if I tell my friends that I met the assistant of the head of the Knight family!”
“You’re right! He is the assistant of the head of the Knight family! I should take some pictures.” Rhys pulled out his phone quietly. Before he could take some shots, he saw Floyd walking toward Bonnie and bowed at her respectfully.
“Mr. Ivor asked me to bring you the painting, Ms. Bonnie.”
His hands quivered uncontrollably. The next thing he knew, his phone fell to the floor. It wasn’t just him. Even Titus and the rest of the onlookers had similar reactions.
Bonnie looked at the painting in Floyd’s arms, surprised. “How does he know that I need the painting now?”
Floyd smiled. “Mr. Ivor loves you more than life itself. Naturally, he keeps tabs on you and what you do.”
Her lips twitched uncontrollably at that.
‘Did Floyd pick up Ivor’s speaking pattern or something? He also has a way with words. Ivor sent him to stalk me, but he said in such an unapologetic manner. On top of that, he managed to spin it so that it almost sounds like a confession of love.’
Then, she reached out and patted him on the shoulder.
“You’ve done well this time. He’ll reward you handsomely when you report everything to him.”
Floyd grinned from ear to ear, revealing his white teeth. “I owe it to you, Ms. Bonnie.”
She didn’t have a good comeback for that.
