Rhys revealed his family’s wealth to Bonnie roundaboutly. In short, he was a millionaire! It would’ve been earth-shattering news if the school had known about it. “Hmm. Not bad, indeed.” Bonnie nodded. “However, it’s not as good as the painting Orson gave me back then.”
‘Look at the way she bluffed. What am I supposed to say now?’ Rhys thought to himself.
Titus chuckled. “It’s been a long time, Bonnie. It seems like you’ve learned how to make jokes now!”
She responded solemnly, “I’m telling you the truth. I didn’t want it, but he insisted on giving it to me back then.”
‘Truth be told, I would’ve rejected Orson outright if it wasn’t for the fact that he was old. After all, I can make my paintings if I wanted to.’
“Uh…”
Titus pulled Rhys aside and said softly, “Don’t get me wrong, Bonnie is beautiful but a loudmouth. Perhaps you should forget about hitting on her, Rhys.”
Rhys, however, didn’t falter. “The way I see it, she’s doing it on purpose. She wanted to get my attention, after all.”
“I guess you could be right.”
She noticed both of them muttering with each other and got bored. So, she headed toward the fruit and beverages section.
“What are you doing here?” Harold looked at her displeasingly.
She turned around impatiently and said coldly, “I’m no longer a part of the Shepard family. Like I said, if one of you harasses me, help me. I’m going to get Trina expelled from Pyralis University. I don’t care which one of you does the harassing.”
“Why, you…” He was so mad that his face and neck turned red.
Worried that her husband would be overly upset, Yolanda gently patted his back. “Is that how you talk to people, Bonnie? He’s an elderly man, for Heaven’s sake!”
She cast a cold gaze at the old lady. It was so petrifying that Yolanda’s back was covered with sweat.
“I don’t intend to waste my time on both of you. Let’s just say Trina will be completely ruined if she’s expelled from Pyralis University three times. On top of that, the entire Shepards will become the city’s-no, the country’s laughingstock.”
Both Yolanda and Harold were beside themselves with rage. They were about to say something, but she cut them off and spoke first.
“Make one noise, and I’m going to tear down the entire Shepard family.”
Both of them zipped it immediately. They could only stare at her viciously, and it took them a long time to calm down.
“Forget about her. Master Orson is going to make an appearance soon.”
As soon as Harold said it, Orson came downstairs, and the crowd huddled around him immediately.
“Come on. Let’s go.”
“Okay.”
Then, Harold and Yolanda went before Orson with a big smile.
“It’s been a long time, Master Orson. You still look as vibrant as ever!”
Orson ignored them and walked past them instead. Just like that, both of them became a laughingstock.
“Master Orson doesn’t know them at all, but they thought so highly of themselves that they went before him and tried to kiss up to him. Good on them. All they’ve achieved was embarrassing themselves.”
“I’d say that they brought it on themselves. After all, they overestimated themselves on this. Everyone wants to kiss up to Master Orson.
“Who do they think they are? I’m not trying to be mean here, but they don’t even have the right to do this when there’s a long line of people waiting to get close to Master Orson.”
“Exactly. They might’ve ruined Master Orson’s day with their actions.”
