“Will your relationship not progress in the future?” Floyd was nervous, but not for himself. Instead, it was for his boss. After all, Jim was the King of Combat and one of the top ten bachelors in Pyralis.
Jim put his arm around Floyd’s shoulders, whispering, “Honestly, I think Bonnie and your boss are quite compatible. I genuinely support it.”
With Jim’s reassurance, Floyd felt relieved.
“What are you guys talking about? Why are you being so secretive?” Bonnie stared at Floyd and Jim with a puzzled look.
Jim smirked. “This is a conversation between men. It’s not suitable for you to hear.”
Bonnie raised an eyebrow and clenched her fist. “What, are you still perpetuating gender stereotypes? Is it because I haven’t practiced for a long time, so you think I can’t wield a knife anymore?”
“No, no, I’m just kidding,” Jim said awkwardly, patting his stomach. “I’m starving. Let’s grab supper. Floyd, care to join?”
“It’s my honor.”
Bonnie chuckled and shook her head at Jim’s swiftly retreating figure before following
him.
Two days later, Bonnie received a message from Avril.
“My mom’s birthday is coming up soon. Everyone in the family is coming to celebrate. You must come!”
“Don’t worry, I’ll be there.”
After replying to the message, Bonnie changed her clothes and hurried to the auction.

Mrs. Bonnie checked the time on her phone. “Isn’t it only seven? I said I’d be here at seven, and I’m not late.”

Heath scrutinized Bonnie. “I heard that a divine doctor cured the boss’s mother of the SR Alliance. He’s even gone to the Knight family to treat the family head’s grandmother. I’m curious. Why would that divine doctor auction his treatment through you?”
Bonnie smirked mysteriously. “Aren’t you always boasting about how smart you are? Do you want to guess?”
Heath rubbed his chin. “You must’ve met that divine doctor at the Knight family, but I’m still puzzled. Even if you know that divine doctor, you wouldn’t be familiar to this extent, right? Shepard, you’re not pulling my leg, are you? It’s an auction my family organized. Don’t trick me. What if the divine doctor doesn’t show up?”
Bonnie rolled her eyes at Heath. “You’re acting as if I’ve tricked you before.”
“Hehehe, I’m just double–checking and making sure.” Heath chuckled awkwardly.
“All right, go about your business. I need to take my seat and prepare for the auction.” Bonnie glanced at the time and headed toward the venue.
“Shepherd, this is your seat.” Heath handed her the number plate. “I’ll go attend to other matters. I won’t keep you any longer.”
