Bonnie held Avril and said, “Why would you get mad at someone so lowly and stoop to their level?”
Avril’s mood considerably improved once she heard Bonnie’s words. “You’re right, Bonnie. Why should I even bother? I should just take the trash out.”
Avril laughed more joyfully when she saw Brittany sneering. The latter felt humiliated and glared at the duo. Suddenly, she thought of something and quickly turned to the other diners waiting for their
food.
“Are you guys satisfied? You arrived earlier than them, yet their dishes arrived before yours!‘ Brittany’s instigations caused those awaiting their food to direct their anger toward Bonnie, especially after considering Brittany’s claims that Bonnie sold her body for benefits.
“She’s so young and beautiful. She should have more self–respect.”
“Yeah, why would she do such a thing for a meal? It’s despicable.”
“I’m disgusted. Waiter, get your manager over here!”
Brittany felt satisfied with everyone’s reaction while Nia and Dermot looked at their daughter proudly. They were eager to see if Bonnie could recover from her shame.
Before the lobby manager could arrive, the head chef appeared.
“Huh, isn’t that the head chef? Why’s he here?”
“That’s weird. He’s carrying a dish, too. I’ve been here so many times and have never seen the head chef personally bring out a dish.”
“You’re right. Jade Horizon Hotel is one of the top establishments in our city, and it has a formidable, multi–award–winning head chef. Why would he personally serve his dish? No head chef would do that. Isn’t that a waiter’s job?”
Amidst the guests‘ puzzled gazes, the head chef placed a freshly made dish before Bonnie, saying, Ms. Bonnie, please try this new dish I developed. I’d like you to tell me if I’ve improved.”
Avril and Daken were dumbfounded, especially the Dyngards. Meanwhile, those who had mocked Bonnie froze in awe.
Bonnie raised her brows and told the head chef, “I don’t recall taking you on as an apprentice.”
said my The head chef said sincerely, “Ms. Bonnie, I begged you to take me under your wing, but you skills were too poor. Since then, I’ve focused on nothing but studying culinary arts and developing new dishes. I hoped you’d one day change your mind and finally accept me as your apprentice.”
