How I Remarry My Ex-Wife Chapter 51

Chapter 51

“Humph, Mr. Mackenzie, you really showed me what a scumbag is. I guess all other women are bad in your heart except Quincey. But please mind your own business and stop worrying about other people’s affairs,” Whitney said. She would never miss a chance to tell Thiago off

“Jonah, let’s go. I feel disgusted after talking to such a person,” Whitney said. Then, she took Jonah’s hand and left.

Jonah was happy to follow Whitney. As he passed Thiago, he shot him a sarcastic smile.

As he watched them leave, Thiago experienced a tightening in his chest, an uneasy feeling enveloping his heart.

He didn’t understand why he had spoken harshly to Jonah and slandered Whitney.

He had no idea his purpose and mused, ‘Do I really hate Whitney so much? But why? After all these years, she chose to end the marriage without receiving a single penny. Why should I hate her? Is it just because she’s a slut?”

Thiago was confused and no longer wanted to attend the birthday party, so he left bitterly.

Whitney was also in a bad mood inside the sports car because of what had happened.

Jonah gazed at Whitney with concern.

“What a jerk! How could he say that? But Winnie, don’t mind him. No matter what he says, I won’t believe it,” he said.

Whitney kept staring ahead and let out a sigh.

“Thank you for helping me just now,” she said. It was her only solace.

“Winnie, it’s right for you to divorce. This man is unreliable. You have foresight,” Jonah declared.

However, Whitney truly did not wish to bring up Thiago again. The hatred in her heart seemed to have reached its limit.

She closed her eyes and feigned sleep, remaining silent

throughout the journey.

The next day was still the weekend. Whitney had nothing to do, so she slept until noon. She ordered takeout and sorted through the project plan. It was evening when she sent it to Finnegan.

Whitney stretched her muscles. She was indeed a little tired, but as long as the project went smoothly, she was willing to work all the time.

When Whitney turned on her computer the following Monday, she received an email from Finnegan.

In the email, Finnegan said he was very pleased with Whitney’s proposal and had already arranged for his subordinates to work on it.

Although Finnegan and Hayden were flippant, they did things equally efficiently. After all, birds of a feather flock together.

Whitney felt like a heavy weight had been lifted when she received a satisfactory answer.

Suddenly, she recalled the conversation she had with Patrick. The old man had wanted her to help him write some calligraphy, and now she had some time available.

So Whitney went to the room and got a calligraphy pen and some paper.

There was already a thin layer of dust on the things. It was obvious that they had not been used for some time.

Whitney gently brushed away the dust as she looked at those treasures.

Chapter 51

In the past, Whitney would try to calm herself by writing when she was in a bad mood or very upset.

She had just been so busy lately that she had forgotten them.

When everything was ready, Whitney picked up her pen. She thought awhile and wrote a poem on the calligraphy practice sheets.

She could write fast, but it wasn’t easy to write nicely, as good calligraphy writing required skills.

After more than an hour, Whitney took a deep breath and looked at her work with a satisfied smile. Then, she put down her pen.

Whitney carefully tucked her work away and returned to her desk after waiting for it to dry thoroughly.

Suddenly, something popped into Whitney’s mind as she thought, ‘My memory is really deteriorating as I get older!

Since Finnegan had agreed to the proposal for the event, it meant the theme of the charity event had also been acknowledged.

With Roland in mind, Whitney picked up the phone and told him about the charity event.

Once everything was arranged, Whitney leaned back in her chair, ready to rest.

However, just as Whitney thought everything was going well, something bad happened.

In the afternoon, Julius rushed into the office anxiously.

When Whitney saw that, she frowned. Julius was an honest and hardworking college graduate. It was the first time she had seen Julius so panicked.

“B–Boss, something’s wrong!” Julius said, gasping for breath.

Whitney frowned and had a bad feeling. “Slow down, what’s going on?” she asked.

After a while, Julius gasped for breath and replied, “Nirvana Company has released the new product we designed!”

When Whitney heard that, her eyes widened and she stood up, asking, “What new product?”

“The new products we have been working on with Indigox…” Julius replied.

Whitney couldn’t hear anything else as she felt her head buzzing.

Those pieces were designed by Lester and had just been handed over to Indigox, meaning the problem could only come from within the company or Indigox Corporation.

“Boss, is it possible that Lester” Julius said doubtfully.

‘Lester? It’s possible, Whitney thought. However, she didn’t believe it.

If Julius has Lester on his mind, then the others in the studio must be suspicious of him, too, she mused.

With that in mind, Whitney said no more and headed straight to Lester’s office.

By that time, Lester was alone and frowning,/No one knew what was going through his mind,

When Lester saw Whitney come in, he was stunned at first. Then, he started to say something, but whitney stopped him.

“Lester, did you do it?” she asked.

Chapter 51

She was not questioning Lester, although Whitney’s tone was serious.

“Whitney, I swear I didn’t do it. I only sent those designs to you and no one else,” Lester explained. He then paused and continued with a

deep sigh.

He continued, “But it’s useless for me to say more. After all, there is no proof. I…”

“You don’t have to say anymore. I believe you!” Whitney interrupted before Lester could finish.

Then she got up and gathered everyone in the studio together.

It could be seen that everyone looked at Lester with disdain.

“I believe you have all heard about this, and I know what you are thinking. I just asked Lester, and he has denied any wrongdoing. Since we are in the same company, I hope we can trust each other. Since Lester said he didn’t do it, I hope everyone will stop guessing and suspecting. The most important thing now is to find out who did it. As for Indigox, I will take care of them,” Whitney stated.
