How I Remarry My Ex-Wife Chapter 49

Chapter 49

Everyone who came forward to offer birthday gifts received some blessings from Patrick, including their female companions.

Soon, it was Thiago’s turn. Like the others, he handed the birthday present to Jerry and stepped forward with Quincey.

“Mr. Gibson, I’m Thiago Mackenzie, wishing you good health and happiness. I pray you have more achievements in the years to come and the best of everything in life.” Thiago wore a modest and respectful smile.

Not far away, Whitney had been watching the commotion. Thiago’s smiling face left her a little lost in thought. It had been long since she saw him that way.

“Thiago, I heard that the company has been doing

ng well recently. You’re indeed a rising star. I believe it won’t take long for the Mackenzie family to grow in power,” Patrick articulated.

Everyone thought Patrick was going to

to talk to Quincey next, but he looked past her and said nothing.

The smile on Quincey’s face froze, but she remained elegant and dignified.

“Mr. Gibson, this is my gift. I hope you like it.” After those words, she opened the box in her hand. Inside was a pair of luxurious glazed wine

glasses.

However, Patrick ignored her, almost as if he didn’t see her presence, and motioned for the next person.

t up to Patrick with Whitney. “Mr. Gibson, I’m not good at talking, but I hope you’ll stay healthy and happy.”

Next, Jonah went up

Patrick stretched out his aged–spotted hand and rubbed Jonah’s head. “You’re the naughtiest one, but I can’t believe you’re the luckiest one, too. You’ve found yourself a beautiful girlfriend.”

Jonah scratched his head in embarrassment. “That’s why you should stay healthy and attend my wedding when the time comes, Mr. Gibson.”

Hearing that, Patrick burst into laughter.

“Whitney, what gift did you prepare for Mr. Gibson? Let us look at it,” the embarrassed Quincey suddenly interjected.

Her words successfully diverted everyone’s attention to Whitney. Whispered conversations began circulating among the crowd when they noticed Whitney’s empty hands.

Jonah looked at Quincey, his brows slightly furrowed and his face full of disgust. Then, hewhispered to Whitney, “Just tell them your gift is a villa, Winnie. I’ll get someone to send the deed over later.”

Whitney was deeply moved by Jonah’s words.

While Jonah came from a rich and powerful family, his mother was very strict with him, so much so that there was even a limit to his bank

card.

Hence, Jonah was nothing like other scions who were spending without control. Instead, he was a little stingy sometimes.

It was beyond Whitney’s imagination that he would be willing to buy a villa for her sake. Doubtlessly, his action touched her.

Yet, she refused. She looked at Patrick and gracefully smiled. “Mr. Gibson, I heard you love paintings a lot, especially modern works. I didn’t prepare a gift today, but if you don’t mind, let me paint you a piece.”

Surprise overwhelmed the crowd wherythey heard Whitney’s words, and they began whispering among themselves.

“Who’s this lady? She’s pretty but has no manners at all. How can she came without preparing a gift?”

“Exactly. She even says she wants to paint, huh? I don’t understand what’s going through her mind. Does she not feel ashamed at all?”

a fool

“I know this lady. She’s Thiago’s ex–wife. I didn’t expect she’d be here to make a fool of herself…”

Everyone was full of contempt for Whitney. She knew everyone wanted to see her make a fool of herself, including Thiago and Quincey, but she did not intend to give them the chance to.

At this moment, Patrick raised his hand and motioned for everyone to keep quiet. He kept a smile on his face, looking particularly benevolent.

“Let her do it. Isn’t the thought that counts when it comes to gifts? As long as she’s genuine, nothing else matters.” After saying that, Patrick instructed Jerry to bring out some brushes and paper.

Soon, several servants vacated a table and got everything ready.

Whitney nodded, still wearing a smile. There was no sign of nervousness at all.

She picked up a brush, and with a proper posture, she began painting.

Watching aside, Patrick found Whitney very interesting. Receiving such a gift was a first for him, so he was curious about what she would paint for him.

At first, he sat still and watched her paint. He thought she was casually painting since her strokes didn’t look distinct.

But after a few seconds, he could no longer endure it and got up, his expression increasingly solemn.

He stared straight at the paintbrush in Whitney’s grip. That style…” he contemplated.

Before long, Whitney lifted her hand and smiled with satisfaction at her work. She then put the paintbrushes back to where they were.

“You’re…” Patrick exclaimed in disbelief.

“Mr. Gibson, I just painted it casually. I’m not sure if you’ll like it,” Whitney hastily interrupted before Patrick could complete his sentence.

Seeing Patrick’s reaction, everyone became curious. Yet, they couldn’t tell what was special about the painting.

“Yes, I do. I love it very much.” Patrick then called Jerry over.

“Jerry, put this away. Remember to be careful,” instructed Patrick.

Jerry was baffled but still did as he was told.

“I’m glad you like it, Mr. Gibson. I’m not talented, so please excuse me,” said Whitney.

Of course, Patrick stopped mentioning Whitney’s identity. He could tell that she didn’t want her identity to be exposed.

“Well, the younger generation will surpass the older! Whoever marries a lady like you must have done good deeds in his previous life.” As Patrick spoke, he grabbed Whitney’s hand, then Jonah’s.

“Jonah, you must seize this chance and not let such a nice lady go. I’ll be waiting for your wedding!” Then, as if playing matchmaker, Patrick put Whitney and Jonah’s hands together./

Standing among the crowd, Thiago watched the scene, his chest tightened. It was the first time he saw Whitney working with paintbrushes,

Chapter 49

Despite being together all these years, he had no idea Whitney was skilled at painting

Even though Thiago didn’t know much about calligraphy and painting, he figured she was no novice based on Patrick’s reaction and Whitney’s techniques. In fact, she had most likely done a great job, or else she wouldn’t have earned Patrick’s affirmation.

Seeing Whitney and Jonah’s hands clasped together, Thiago wanted nothing more than to rush forward and separate them. Obviously, he didn’t do that, but the expression on his face grew increasingly gloomier

Behind him, Quincey was feeling even more outraged. She could not understand why Patrick would value Whitney’s gift so much when it was just a painting. She had wanted to embarrass Whitney, yet she never expected this outcome.
