How I Remarry My Ex-Wife Chapter 47

Chapter 47

Quincey’s reaction drew the sidelong glances of passersby, prompting her to seemingly realize her mistake. She quickly concealed her menacing expression and then lowered her voice to speak to Whitney. “Seems like you’re just jealous of me, huh? But you know what? You can relax now. You finally snagged yourself a sugar daddy, so stop with the act or else he might leave you too.”

“Curry favor?” Whitney scoffed inwardly at Quincey’s words. With the Influence of the Greene Family, even the Mackenzie family sought their support, let alone ordinary individuals.

However, the Quincey before her held no sway. She remained self–assured and unafraid of any potential embarrassment.

Just as Whitney prepared to retaliate, she sensed someone behind her. Assuming it was Thiago, she turned around, only to find Finnegan standing there instead.

Meanwhile, Quincey also noticed Finnegan’s presence and seamlessly adjusted her demeanor.

“Winnie, you’ve divorced Thiago. Can’t you stop bothering us? I just want to be with Thiago happily, Can’t you let us be happy?”

Quincey pleaded, taking Whitney’s hand and appearing pitiful.

Whitney regarded Quincey with disdain. It was Quincey’s go–to tactic, especially in front of others. She always played the victim, as if constantly being bullied by others. Whitney had seen through it long ago.

Yet, Quincey managed to deceive everyone each time.

Whitney could already anticipate how Finnegan was going to view her, fearing that he might terminate their business contract because of this

situation.

Just as she began to explain, Finnegan’s cold voice came from behind her, sounding cold and chilling, leaving Whitney momentarily stunned

by its intensity.

“Miss, blaming others for the problems in your relationship with your boyfriend isn’t fair. If Winnie could easily disrupt your relationship, then either your boyfriend is unreliable or there are issues between you two.”

He then added with a teasing smile, “But instead of focusing on your boyfriend, you’re here interrogating Winnie, who’s also a victim, Isn’t that a bit unreasonable?”

Quincey’s delicate facade immediately faltered, her complexion growing even paler.

Whitney felt like she was on the brink of exploding, but Quincey managed to maintain her composure. She refrained from lashing out like a shrew, maintaining her facade of victimhood, which only elicited pity from those around her.

Her eyes slightly reddened as she bit her lower lip, trembling slightly. “Sir, you’re right, but she and Thiago were once married. Even though they’re divorced, Thiago still feels nostalgic, to some extent. I just hoped she’d stop disrupting our lives. Isn’t that fair?”

Quincey glanced at Whitney, tears streaming down her cheeks and falling to the ground. “Whitney, you know better why you divorced Thiago. It was an amicable breakup. Besides, you have a boyfriend now. Please, just let us go.”

“You don’t seem to grasp the situation. I just made it clear. When your dog bites people indiscriminately, isn’t it inappropriate to blame the person who gets bitten?” Finnegan interjected before Whitney could respond, his tone dripping with irony.

Quincey’s expression soured further at the metaphor, her body trembling with anger.

Hearing Finnegan’s words, Whitney silently applauded him. Not only did he reprimand Quincey, but he also admonished Thiago. He really lived up as Hayden’s friend.

Sensing Finnegan’s influence, Quincey shifted her gaze away from him, directing her plea to Whitney. “Whitney, I know there’s a misunderstanding between us. I’m sorry. Please, Thiago means everything to me. Please, have mercy. Let him go, let us go.”

Whitney couldn’t fathom Quincey’s shamelessness, marveling at her ability to feign pity even in such circumstances.

“Birds of a feather flock together. Since I’ve thrown out the trash, I’m not going to pick it up again. If you think it’s valuable, take it with you!” Whitney retorted icily, turning on her heel and walking away.

She couldn’t bear to look at Quincey any longer. If she saw any more of her, she feared she’d grow blind.

Finnegan followed closely behind, like a protective escort.

After a lengthy walk, Whitney sighed and turned to Finnegan. “Thank you for today.”

Finnegan shrugged. “It’s no big deal. You’re Hayden’s sister. How could I stand by and let you be bullied?”

“Well, thank you anyway. I should get going now.” Whitney always felt drained after encountering Thiago and the others. Right now, all she wanted was to return home and rest.

Watching Whitney walk away, Finnegan held back the words on the tip of his tongue. He didn’t quite understand why he felt compelled to help Whitney, but he couldn’t bear to see her treated unfairly. That was all.

‘Maybe I’ve developed feelings for her… he mused.

Meanwhile, Quincey stood rooted to the spot, gritting her teeth in frustration

For Quincey, Whitney was clearly consumed by jealousy, Calling Thiago trash, then swiftly finding a new boyfriend. It was all too convenient. Recalling Whitney’s haughty demeanor earlier only fueled Quincey’s anger, leaving her seething with frustration.

‘Whitney, you won’t get to stay gleeful forever. With that thought in mind, Quincey clenched her fists tightly and stormed off in a fit of rage.

Back at the Mackenzie manor, Thiago sat on the sofa, expressionless as he stared at his phone.

Beside him, Quincey wore a visibly aggrieved expression.

Thiago raised his eyebrows, glancing at Quincey as he spoke softly. “Back so soon.”

However, Quincey’s lips formed a deeper pout upon hearing this. “Thiago, guess what I just saw.”

Thiago turned to give her a look before withdrawing his gaze.

He wasn’t accustomed to seeing Quincey in such a state, and part of him wanted to avoid dealing with her altogether.

It was a stark contrast to how much he used to trust her and couldn’t bear to see her upset.

“I just saw another man with Whitney, and they were holding hands. They seemed very close.”

Thiago’s frown deepened at the mention of Whitney. “Why does she keep popping up in my life?”

Sensing Thiago’s change in demeanor, Quincey pressed on, “It looked like they went into a hotel across the street. Seems like Whitney is involved with multiple men.”

Her eyes darted up to meet Thiago’s, her expression expectant.

Thiago’s face darkened even further, a palpable aura of anger emanating from him. It was as if a dark cloud had descended upon him,

rendering him unapproachable.

However, Quincey didn’t stop there. “Thiago, this is Whitney’s private matters! I shouldn’t have asked or told you, but…”
