Lysander was somewhat annoyed. “If you keep this up, I’m going back to Michelle’s ward. You can go back on your own.”
Josiah naturally placated her in a gentle and calm manner, “I’ve consulted the surgeon. He mentioned that although this method might slow down the recovery, it’s still a viable option.”
Lysander found it hard to believe.
Nevertheless, Josiah continued, “You’ve mentioned it yourself, every profession has its own field of expertise. You must trust in the professional abilities of the surgeons at your hospital.”
“I don’t believe you,” Lysander said seriously. “You’re not avoiding bandages because you think they look ugly, are you?”
Josiah touched his nose in an attempt to avoid answering. He merely turned around to ask, “Saffron, is Aurora doing alright?”
Saffron wore a puzzled expression. “Huh? What’s wrong with Aurora? I’ve fed her formula and changed her diaper. Is there anything else I need to do?”
Lysander said coldly, “Don’t change the subject. Ignoring a problem won’t make it disappear. Looking good shouldn’t be your priority.”
Josiah gave a wry smile. “I’m not even married yet. What if I have a scar on my face?”
Lysander was silent for a moment. “Not everyone is so superficial, basing love solely on appearances.”
“Yeah, you really don’t judge someone by appearances,” said Josiah. “You even considered being with someone like Zachary.”
When it came to Zachary, Lysander still felt a little unsettled. “If Zachary doesn’t come back for a long time, Mdm. Camila will definitely call the police. They’ll check the surveillance cameras and then… Are you ready for that? What will you say when the time comes?”

Lysander lowered her gaze, studying her own fingers. “Is it because of business?”

“Can one really take a life for the sake of money?” Lysander asked. “Perhaps because I’m a doctor, every life is precious to me. I can’t comprehend the ruthlessness of the business world.”
Josiah said, “The more power is concentrated, the more brutal the competition becomes. Sometimes, it’s not that I want to harm someone, but they want to harm me. I’m just trying to protect myself.”
“I can comprehend, but still struggle to fully understand.”
“You don’t need to understand” said Iosiah. “As long as I’m around. I won’t let vou face such issues”
