His Beloved Ex-Wife (Gwendolyn Reeves ) Chapter 344

Chapter 344 You Are Staying At His Place

Lysander listened to the footsteps behind her, feeling a burning frust tion inside.

She quickened her as a result.

However, Josiah caught up within a few strides, snatching the umbrella from her hands. “Let me hold it.”

The umbrella was snatched away unexpectedly, leaving Lysander with no time to react. Meanwhile, Josiah had already started to survey their surroundings. “The location seems decent, and the environment is not too bad.”

Lysander ignored him and continued walking forward.

Holding the umbrella, Josiah followed closely behind, matching her pace with every step.

She paused, turning back to look at him.

Josiah uttered, “Hmm?”

Lysander: What on earth are you trying to do?

He chuckled lightly. “I thought I had made it quite clear already.”

Lysander immediately responded: I thought I made myself quite clear.

“Let’s give it another shot,” Josiah said. “I’m not asking you to change your mind immediately, but le me prove my sincerity.”

Lysander took a deep breath. Lysander: You should go back.

“Go back where?”

Lysander: You know where.

Josiah asked, “I’m not quite sure. Are you asking me to go back to my place or to return home?”

Lysander: Either is fine.

Suddenly, he reached out and wrapped his arms around her waist, drawing her into his embrace.

Lysander felt a surge of anger in her chest as she forcefully shoved him away with her hand.

Coincidentally, a car whizzed past out of the darkness. Its high beams were blindingly bright, and the puddles on the ground were splashed high into the air, drenching Josiah’s back.

Lysander was shielded by him, untouched by even a single drop of water.

Josiah frowned slightly, muttering under his breath. “Seems like not all the residents here are as refined as they should be.”

He reached back to tug at his clothes clinging to his back. They were drenched and dripping with water. With one hand occupied by the umbrella, he could only use his other hand to squeeze out the water. Water subsequently sloshed out, but it didn’t do much good.

His suit was nearly soaked through, and the shirt underneath clung da ply to his skin..

Upon seeing the situation, Lysander wanted to take the umbrella, allowing him to use both hands to wring it dry.

As soon as she reached out her hand, he skillfully dodged it. “You’re injured. Don’t get wet. Let’s go, we should head home first.”

“Lysander?”

Suddenly, a puzzled voice came from the side.

Adrian Held a flashlight in his hand and upon seeing Josiah, he wasn’t particularly surprised. “Mr. Guerra, I can’t believe how fast you have acted.”

Josiah was actually the one who was most surprised.

“Do you live in this neighborhood too?”

Adrian gave a nod. “Mmm-hmm.”

The gaze of Josiah darkened slightly. “That’s quite a coincidence.”

“Does you also own property here, Mr. Guerra?”

“No.”

Adrian chuckled lightly. “What’s so coincidental about that?”

“Lysander lives here now.” Josiah’s voice grew slightly heavier. “You should know that, right?”

Adrian nodded. “I do.”

“Did Daphne try to set you two up?”

“That was indeed the case before, but not anymore. She has her own family matters to deal with now and has no time for anything else.”

Josiah spoke softly. “Dr. Sutton, you must have important matters to attend to, to be out this late. I won’t keep you any longer. Please carry on. Lysander, let’s head home.”“

“No bother at all. Lysander is currently staying at my place.”

Lysander felt Josiah’s gaze suddenly sharpen as he looked down at her. “Are you staying at his place?”

Lysander didn’t respond.

Adrian slowly approached them, his tone nonchalant “This place is quite close to the hospital where
