The girls were already scared stiff, not daring to move an inch. Flora simply took the stick from their hands and turned around, leisurely watching the three drenched figures struggling in the water.

Flora quickly steadied herself, trying not to look too bad even if she fell.

Her father always doted on her, so Millie thought she would surely persuade him to punish Flora with her tears. After all, the Irving family was of no significant standing and was unworthy of fear.
