Chapter Sixty: Luna Queen Part Two

Kiara’s POV:

The weight of the upcoming announcement made my stomach churn with nerves. As we walked towards the royal council chambers, my hands felt clammy against Kayden and Jayden’s. The grandeur of the marble corridors and the echoing footsteps added to the anticipation. The flickering torches casting eerie shadows on the walls did nothing to alleviate the tension building up inside me.

Sensing my nerves, Kayden looked at me, his eyes filled with warmth. He squeezed my hand gently, drawing my attention towards him.

“Kiara. We want you to know that we would choose you a thousand times over anyone else. Council lineage, rank, nothing matters more than you.” he said, his voice smooth and calming.

The sincerity in his voice was unmistakable. I glanced at Jayden and found the same sentiments reflected in his eyes.

“You are our mate, our queen, we believe in you, and we love you,” Jayden added, his voice resonating with conviction.

His words, combined with the conviction in his eyes, gave me the courage I needed. I nodded, drawing a deep breath to steady myself. I was about to become the Luna queen, and I would not let my mates down.

We stood before the grand doors of the royal council chambers, waiting for the announcement. My heart pounded in my chest as one of the guards swung the doors open.

The royal council chambers were grand, adorned with tall ceilings and exquisite art pieces. The council members were seated around a semi- circular table, their faces serious yet expectant. The murmur of conversations came to a halt as we walked in, all eyes on us.

This was it, the moment of truth. As the doors closed behind us, I took a deep breath, standing tall and strong beside my mates. I would face this new challenge head–on, with grace and strength, befitting of a Luna queen.

As we stepped into the vast, intimidating council chamber, a wave of silence washed over the room. The aura of my mates changed drastically; they no longer wore their loving, reassuring demeanour. Instead, they seemed formidable and authoritative, their sharp eyes sweeping over the room. They were in their element, their stance. exuding an air of undisputed command that demanded respect.

The council members, all highly ranked alphas and betas, quickly rose to their feet in response to the king’s presence. They bowed their heads respectfully, baring their necks in a display of submission to the alpha kings. The room was filled with a palpable mix of anticipation and respect. Everyone was keenly aware of the significance of this

gathering, and tension was ripe in the air.

Kayden began, his voice powerful and resonating throughout the room.

“Council members, we gather today to share news of utmost importance. Since Kiara was nine, we knew she was our destined mate, our Luna. However, to ensure her safety and well–being, we chose to protect her identity from the world.”

His eyes met mine, filled with love, before continuing.

“Now that she is of age, we have claimed her. She carries our mark and is our mate. We proudly stand here to introduce to you our Luna Queen, Kiara.”

As his gaze turned back to the room, a murmur erupted among the council members. Their eyes moved from Kayden to me, noticing the marks adorning my neck – a symbol of my union with the kings. The realization started to sink in, and expressions of surprise, respect, and curiosity were painted across their faces.

I glanced at my parents and the twins‘ parents. I saw pride shining in their eyes as they watched me, standing tall and proud beside their sons. Rex, too, bore a look of quiet pride, a silent nod confirming his support.

Despite the overwhelming emotions, I felt a strange sense of calm. Their words, their assurance, had woven a protective shield around me. Whatever came our way, we would face it together. I was not just. Kiara anymore; I was the Luna Queen, mated to the Alpha Kings.

As the murmur of voices grew louder, it became clear that not everyone. was willing to accept this revelation gracefully. Among the surprised and respectful nods, there were those who protested.

“But she’s a scholar! How could she possibly be your mate?” a gruff” voice echoed from the crowd, the speaker’s face masked by the throng of council members.

Another chimed in,

“She has no royal blood, no lineage! This is against tradition!”

The words hit me like a sucker punch to the gut, but I willed myself to keep a composed façade. My gaze remained steady, focusing on the sea of faces before me, refusing to let their words faze me.

Suddenly, an icy, palpable rage filled the room. The previously murmuring crowd fell silent as the twins rose from their thrones. Their eyes were blazing with fury; their lips pulled back in a snarl revealing sharp canines.

“Enough!” Jayden’s voice boomed through the council chambers, his alpha command silencing any remaining murmurs instantly. “She is our mate, our Luna Queen, and your words of protest will not change this truth. Any further dissent against our queen will result in immediate banishment from our territory. Are we clear?”

The severity of their voices and the unmistakable threat left no room for discussion. The room became silent again, the council members

nodding in reluctant compliance.
