Before I could reply, I heard a voice coming from behind us, and I was picked up and swung in circles which had me giggle.
“Well, you got on the thing right, even if you didn’t get the rest. That my girl over here will win and cream you all.” Said Rex as he put me down and hugged me.
Cathy rolled her and then laughed.
“No argument over here, prince Rex. We already know that. By the way, I’m going to go see where Riley is. See you inside, Kiki.” Said Cathy, giving me a wink and running off before I could get a word out.
“Well, she didn’t make that obvious at all.” Said Rex, chuckling.

I chuckled, got out of his arms, and walked with him as he led me to the auditorium where the Trivia was to be held.
“How are you feeling, Kiki?” Asked Rex as he held my hand
I sighed! My happy mood slightly dampened.
“Stress, scared, happy and sad,” I said, word vomiting my emotions out.
“I get everything, but why sad?” Asked Rex, stopping a little. away from the auditorium door.
“It’s just everyone’s families are here, and mine isn’t, and before you say, I have you! I know and appreciate it, but I wanted mom, daddy, my brothers and JJ to come as well. Remember when he left three ago, and all of us were standing? I promised to win the Trivia for him, and I wanted to do that, but I wanted him to be here, and he even promised he would be here no matter what. But, since the whole upcoming warrior scholarship and him. always talking to Cathy now, I feel left out and not wanted by him anymore.” I said, a tear running down my cheek.
As much as I was all for JJ and Cathy’s relationship, I missed my best friend at times, and this would be the first time he would be breaking a promise to me: he said he would come and he would remember the date for the Trivia, but he isn’t here.

“You came! You came! Wait, does that mean everyone else is here as well?” I said, looking up into his eye with unshed tears of happiness in mine
“Yes! It was a surprise! And as far as me coming, even if no one came, I would find a way. I never broke a promise to you, Kiki, and I wasn’t going to start now. And, we are going to have a talk about what I just heard you telling Rex but just know this, you will always be my number one girl. No matter what.” Said JJ as he hugged me tighter.
I nodded in his arms. Happiness surged through me that he was here, and so was my family. Was all of this Rex doing? Before I could ask, JJ spoke up again.

“As much as I would love to take the credit. It was Kayden and Jayden. They came to me this morning and apologized for their behaviour yesterday. They wanted to come to you next, but they knew you were mad, so to make it up, they personally went to grab your family and bring them back.” Said, Rex
I pulled back from him and stared at him, shocked. King Kayden and King Jayden did this? Did they know that I wanted my family to be here, or was it because they wanted me to forgive them? And they even apologized to Rex, my oh my, I’m in an alternate universe. Never in these three years have I heard them apologize to anyone
“They can be mean, but I know they really like you, Kiki. They only apologized to me because of you, and I know that for a fact. So cut my big brothers some slack and forgive them. Huh, future mate?” Said Rex winking at me.
