“Your kid is outside,‘ he whispered. I focused on the outside noises, and indeed, I could hear Polline and Turner having a great talk and having a fun time outside.
“I am going to remove my hand from your mouth, but don’t make a noise, okay?” He whispered again, and when I answered him through the blinking of my eyes, he removed his hand from my lips.
“Why are you in here?” I uttered, keeping my voice as low as I could.
